Some of the more environmentally minded Senators are beginning to shy away from doing ANYTHING to stop global warming.  See this recent piece in the Politico.  It turns out Americans have no face left to lose at the forthcoming international climate meeting in Copenhagen next month.  Other countries might just be glad that the Americans are going to show up, kind of like having an idiot in your class who helps with the grading curve.

But Mother Nature can’t be fooled and it looks like we’ve been lied to about how much oil actually remains.  It turns out that the International Energy Agency’s annual report of the world’s oil supply, the World Energy Outlook, has, according to whistleblowers, been distorted to inflate the oil supplies to appease the US.  Without the distortions, it’s clear we are in the peak oil zone.   It’s not a bad thing if you are German and your country has decided to prioritize its solar industry or Danish and your country is building massive wind farms.  But for Americans, well we taxpayers now own General Motors, and this is our best bet, the new muscle car, the Camaro.
